Ok, why the penguin in Fight Club? Why does it tell him to slide? |
Ok, why the penguin in Fight Club? Why does it tell him to slide? There's no real reason for it. Chuck Palahniuk (the author of the book) has said that when he did the visualization exercise his "power animal" was a penguin and it said slide. It's not really a plot point or character point as much as it is Palahniuk being Palahniuk and putting stuff from his life into his books which was then included in the movie. My "opinion".... I think the penguin, being is Power animal, means that he is a weak person. Penguins arent known for being strong fearful animals. I think he tells him to slide because he wants him to have fun in all he does. Tyler always laughed at everything, and I think that is the point. Jack was always depressed and couldn't sleep. Thats just a thought though. I could be wrong. |

Mr. Boogedy ...I totally agree with you on that. Never understood WHY people were oh so excited over Tim "I have never read a comic book" Burton's god-awful version of the Batman with Mike Keato... these are full movies offered only the selected night a week before the movie is released. I love sneak peaks because mos people dont take advantage and see it before the rest of the public. Its no... Deckard daydreams of a unicorn (an imaginary animal which is totally real in his dream) Gaff leaves a unicorn outside Deckard's apartment, where could he have seen it but in Deckard's me... OMG! Not Sam Raimi. That guy is a horrible director. It would be a travesty to entrust something like Tolkien's work to that knucklehead. ...Boonside? Do you mean the BoonDOCK Saints? I'd join up with them, I think the world could use a dose of vigilante justice every now and then. ...I was wondering the same thing. My bf and I watched it (for the 2nd time) over the weekend and when I asked him he didn't have an answer either. I think the answer is that there is no answer. ... Potter for sure! The Simpson movie was just like a long tv episode ... |
