...an old western film!!!? |
I'm trying to get my Dad a special DVD Christmas gift, and I thought I'd try to find a movie, which he has been looking for, for a long, long time; he doesn't remember the title, but I think that he said that Marilyn Monroe was in it. The story of the film had something to do with an Englishman, who travels to America, and the Wild West, at the turn of the century, with the intention to sell guns... ...I think that the film, which you might be looking for, is the rollacking 1958 western comedy, "The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw"; however, that movie starred Jayne Mansfield, not Marilyn Monroe. In the film, a clumsy, determined and naive inventor & gun saleman, DOES travel to the American Wild West, and gets a real good dose of culture shock, when he gets there; Jayne Mansfield plays a beautiful and seasoned, sharp-shooting saloon owner, who takes him under her wing, teaches him more than a few things about the West, and ultimately falls in love with him... "River of No Return" - 1954 - Robert Mitchum, Marilyn Monroe, Rory Calhoun Here's one place you could start. |

The first 45 minutes were really compelling, but then it seemed to get away from the story for about an hour. I grew kind of restless and bored. But I hear the most contraversial film of all is Cannibal Holocaust. ...It was A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. An absolutely wonderful film! ...It looks interesting, but to me, Jack Nicholson will always be The Joker. I'm still going to see it, though. He was in the 1989 version. His version is the best, because his comes closes... I too think that you are referring to the Lost Boys movie. The song that you might be thinking of is Lost in the Shadows and it is by Lou Gramm from Foreigner, you can check out the soundtrack list... |
