In Lion King....?

So I was watching Lion King a few nights ago with this kid I was taking care of. I'm sitting there blitzed as hell and the kid is falling asleep and I see the part when Simba is walking on the log with the pig and the Timone guy. Then he morphed into an adult. So he spent his whole entire childhood on a log, singing and swaying his head? hahahah wtf disney?

I have to agree with you. I thought that was a really weak part of the story. It's like a kid running away to join the circus because he knocked over the mailbox while trying to drive the family car. "Oh yah - that's the best way to deal with a problem".

Also wtf was with every animal in the jungle bowing down to Simba when he has just been born? Where I come from, you have to *earn* respect. You don't get it just because of who your daddy is.

You are just another example of everything bad in the world. You are responsible for the life of that child, and you are all messed up? God forbid you should ever have any children. Report It

it wasnt his entire childhood. its just showing his transformation. there cartoons, and its an awesome movie.

I think that the morph was supposed to mean that he had an easy going carefree life that he was happy with, which is why the song and scenery remained the same.

Movies have a time limit, so could not go day after day showing Simba slowly growing older, completely happy day in day out. There's got to be conflict, decision and resolution.

Hence, the morph!

If it's any consolation...a lion becomes an adult alot faster than a human. So it may not have been more than a few short years on the log. Not the first time Disney requires huge personal sacrifice of its main characters - it's par for the course.
I hope you haven't spent too much time dwelling on this minutae.

I know that always pissed me off when I was little. I liked him when he was a baby.

Well, they couldn't just go through his whole growing up phase (talk about a long movie) so they segued into his adulthood through song. It's like using a montage and a fight song to show Mulan growing from weak woman to tough, butch woman. Disney has to do that or the kids will lose interest. The little ones can't handle an epic.
