Im stating that the majority of the U.S. critics are stupid?

People today who go to the movies to watch the movies only want to see action and do not want to think about the movie. The movies of the 80s-90s were mostly good and had sense in them. How come today there are crappy movies like 28 weeks later, Resident Evil, house of the dead, and much much more stupid movies. Need i say snake on a plane? Snake on a train? Phone Booth?

Film makers today only make movies with interests for the stupid just because they want some money at the box office. I believe the reason people download so much is because they worry. We worry if we pay good money to watch some stupid girl scream her lungs out because she saw snakes on a plane. Downloading wouldn't be a problem if the movie is actually worth watching in the damn theater

Anyone who objects can give me their 2 cents in the answer. Pros and Cons are welcomed. This is just starting a debate. Answer me smart people.... Dumb ones fight for your dignity. Cause i just called you stupid.

Hahahaha our first dummy just posted. One of those people that do not like to think. Its because we read books thats why we understand the complexed movies. People like (Rick A) is the reason we are getting so many crappy movies. I bet those guys are online posting about it day in and out. Complaining that "ooh the movie is too hard to understand". Well durrrrr if its written from a book and you don't understand it then your pretty well off stupid. Society has become very uneducated. U.S. kids are going dumb and falling behind kids from other nations.

Film Jedi is totally wrong... Whoever thinks a young teen getting pregnant is funny is really either crazy or a jerk. Juno in my personal upbringing is wrong against society. We're supposed to teach kids not to get pregnant and yet people make movies like this? Report It

Horror movies are the worst. The only horror movie to come out in I don't know how long is Saw. But even in Saw, the terror of the earlier horror movies isn't there.

Why..... do I get the feeling that you don't spend a lot of time reading books that don't have pictures in them.

If you want insight into a world-wide array of people, living in places that you and I may never touch, and in times -- past and future -- which we will never know, then check out a good movie.

If you want "ACTION !!!" then please, go back to HALO III;
(a "game" which we used to call "playing war," but you don't have to bother with all that annoying PHYSICAL MOVEMENT.)

I agree with most of it.
Even the films that try to offer more fall short, The Departed and American Gangster don't even come close to the likes of The Godfather and Goodfellas, the comparisons are a sham.

Action filled sequels and prequels are being thrown out all-over the place with no care and consideration.
And then we turn to book and game adaptations.
Games will obviously be turned into bland, boring actionfests such as Hitman, and the books are being toned down and simplified to the point of a well rounded story being turned into a simple childrens fantasy.
And this all all before the religions take their knives out and deem everything pro-atheist (but chrisitan bull is okay)

That said, I won't deny that good films are still being made, just if not making it to the big screens over there. European films have improved tenfold in the last few years, and with Bollywood growing, and us standing on the verge of a new dawn of asian film boom... You have to wonder how long Hollywood will stay around for... until you remember the millions of easily wow'd Americans that'll still swallow it up and pay for it.

There was no real point to this post, I was just bored...

I never buy the arguement that there are no good movies around today. People who say that are seeing the wrong movies. If your movie diet consists only of things like "The Game Plan" or "Alvin and the Chipmunks" or "I Know Who Killed Me," then of course it will seem like there are no good films.

However, lots of great movies are being made; they just don't get the same hype. Consider:
