Do you like Oscar films? How do you think Oscar films?

These days I have watched more kinds of Oscar films, and i like them very much, and they can give me more comfortable for my heart.

Thanks for your kinds reply.

Hello Nelly,
Let me see if I can give you a good answer to a not too easy question, I am pleased you have seen so many oscar worthy movies, buit there is a lot involved in getting an Oscar awarded for a film, and most of it involves how well the Movie Theatres are packed to see these films, so that it then becomes a commercial effort by the Studios that make the films.
There are more than just Hollywood films to be seen before you can say that their films are the best, A story on film that concerns say a war theme, should not be considered as great as a story concerning real human life and emotions, when the hero wins the heart of his beloved by defending her honour from a man intent on taking her away from her husband or her true love, who in this instance would be labelled as the bad guy. Thus giving you justification for those warm feelings in your heart. A nomination for a film to qualify for a well earned Oscar award. doesn't always get the Oscar awarded for the film. and the film is still a very good story for all who would go to see it once, and then want to see the same film again.
There are people who see the same film many many times over and that film may not have even been Nominated for an oscar. But don't worry Nelly, they are certain they have been going to see their most favourite film of all time. This is to say that the ticket buying public, should be the only judges of the Oscar worthy films, as should you for your viewing choices, I hope this letter helps you in understanding more about the answer you are seeking.
A very Happy Christmas Nelly, and may 2008 be your best year ever...Bye for now...Tony M

Usually, they're the pretentious ones, aren't they?
Forest Gump instead of Pulp Fiction for best film? Come on!!

I thought he was the chap from Sesame Street?

I like films regardless of whether or not they have won Oscars or been nominated for them. You should perhaps specify which films in particular you are talking about.

I think the last few years there have been fewer and fewer films up for consideration that have any sort of mainstream appeal. Film buffs and other intellectual snobs will criticize "mainstream" films as being fluff and inartistic but there's a reason things go mainstream- people like them! And while there is A LOT of crap films out there, there are also some really well done ones that have a wide stream audience.
My best example of "good" Oscar films in recent times: i think it was two years ago, it was Million Dollar Baby, Finding Neverland, Ray, Sideways and The Aviator. All five of them were REALLY good. You should check them out if you missed any... :)
