What "instrument" was used in the beginning of kid rock cowboy?

my 12 year old autistic son listens to just that part over and over....and I was wondering what was used to "convert" it that way. Thanks in advance!

A Talk Box. Peter Frampton used it in "Show me the way". Aerosmith used it in "Sweet Emotion". It's been used by a few other artists on occasion. I love that tune - Cowboy :)
