I have no music reading ability. I've tried many times and every time I just end up making everything up as a I go. So I've been playing for about 4 years and know NOTHING about music except what sounds good.
I came across this scale today: B, D#, E, F#, G, A
I had fun playing around with it but I'm curious as to what its called.
Also, I'm trying to find E dorian...I found it once and then promptly forgot it, lol. Hahaha synthetic hexatonic...fancy, lol. Thanks! The Dorion mode uses the Interval patterns
Key - Major 2nd - Minor 3rd - Perfect 4th - Perfect 5th - Major 6th - Minor 7th - Octave. So with E as the key note it the scale should go, E F# G A B C# D E.
The scale you came across would appear to be a Synthetic Hexatonic scale, in which case it wouldn't have it's own individual name. That scale is not a naturally occuring one. I do not know the name.
E Dorian is: E F# G A B C# D |
