Do you know about guitars?

If you know about guitars then this question is for you to answer.

I have a standard Yamaha acoustic guitar, the $140.00 one. It is very nice, I had it for 5 years. I want to upgrade it to something better, but not sure which way to go.
I have about $250 budget. Any suggestions?

I saw a commercial for one of the Esteban's guitars.
this one is $200 plus shipping http://esteban.infomercial.tv/?linkId=16...

Tell me what you know, what should I do in your opinion, which guitar should I get? Or maybe I have to raise my budget in order to get something really good?

yes.Martin, ovation, washburn all make great guitars...maybey try pawn shoppes(where I foud a copy of a stra that plays just like a 1970's model & souds great for only 114.00(peavey)
It will just be a matter of what looks & sounds good to you...sometimes an off-brand that usually is not that great in quality, pplays like youre Segovia or something.Try classifeds...the nickle ones....people sometimes sell things this time of year to help xmax costs, good luck & you can email me if you need to,Neen playing all my life,
mark

i hate the guitar!

If it's an acoustic you're after, take a look at Ibanez.... in my opinion they make the best guitars (acoustic and electric)

please dont get the fuking Esteban guitar!! PLEASE, god i hate that guy. Go to MusiciansFriend.com. They are the best ever, dealt with them for over 10 years. In that range id look at Applause, Alvarez, Fender of course and maybe even Ovation has something that low im not sure.

I have 2 of those Esteban guitars and both work well for my children to play either electric with the amp, or acoustic. If your looking for an upgrade and know exactly how much you wish to spend, hit a local music store and talk to their employees. They want to know things like how often you play, what type of sounds your looking to play and they can best determine what would be fine for your price range as well as what would fit your hands comfortabley. As far as the Esteban guitars, they are not bad in my experience, for the full pachage like your talking about, it comes with chord chart, amp, extra strings, polishing cloth and case in addition to the guita and DVD lessons on how to play. The choice is up to you, really its a personal preferance.
