Thomastik If I understand correctly, the wound strings are usually aluminum wound over a Perlon core. Perlon is a modern product, superior to the old gut centers of strings.
Steel strings are used more by fiddlers, and are also found on cheaper "student" instruments.
Dominants are good, wound strings and used by everyone. A step up in quality from the Dominants are the Eva Pirazzi's. There is a new string out by the same company, the Visions, which are supposed to be very good. |
