Simple one for you musoes but who can answer it in a simple manner? |
what is and what is the difference between - a chord and a note and how do these relate to the threats on a guitar. I know its an elemetary question but i work within the music biz and have never asked the question? A chord is, as already answered, a collection of 3 or more notes played simultaneously, usually by strumming. A note is a single string which is plucked by a finger, or hit by a pick. When you hold down a string in between the frets you actually hear the sound of the string barring on the next fret (heading away from the headstock) itself. I hope that makes sense? A chord is three or more notes. I had the feeling that a lot of your type work in the music business. My god, no wonder the music industry is in such a state!!! You can't even spell 'frets'!!! a chord is 2 or more notes played at on time and a note is just 1 A chord is da.da.da sound |
