Have you ever seen a tribute band that were better than the real thing?

hard to say really, cos i've never seen a tribute band of which i've seen the real band..

that was a difficult grammatical sentence, awkwardly written.

anyway, you know what i mean. i've only seen a few tribute bands, no usually my thing, but i thought bjorn again were a good laugh with a great show and i was also impressed by the complete stone roses at fatty's a few years back.

In one word,No.

Tribute bands are really bad! I hate them!!

Not really a tribute act, but I saw a singer in a pub singing Britney Spears songs better than the originals.

Only elements. The one that stands out was a Queen cover band called Magic. Although the had nothing like the stage presence, the vocal harmonies were actually better.

I did see a band in Berlin in Germany that played Status Quo not better but just as good they were called Smiledriver.

It is'nt possible no matter how bad the original band may have been. Original is best.
Tribute bands are naff at best.
I can just about understand a tribute band to a dead rock star or maybe a long extinct band. but a tribute for a band for someone alive and kicking and still in the (always have been pathetic) charts. What's that all about?.
I've been to see a few and on the whole they make me cringe.
The best I've seen are probably LIMEHOUSE LIZZY.
