Can anyone remember, a scottish band the bay city rollers from the 1970's?

just listening to some of their songs,
they still sound good today.
whatever happened to them i wonder.........

bye bye baby

How could I forget. I saw them in concert at Wembly. I made sure I was wearing all my tar-ten. My scarf, trousers with tar-ten on the bottom of them. My heart throb was Les McKeown. I had pictures all over my bedroom walls.

Bye Bye Baby

If you hate me after all I say
Can't put it off any longer
I just gotta tell her anyway.

Bye bye baby, baby good-bye
Bye baby, baby bye bye.
Bye bye baby, baby don't make me cry.
Bye baby, baby bye bye.

You're the one girl in town I'd marry
Girl I'd marry you now if I were free
I wish it could be.

I could love you buy why begin it
Cause there ain't any future in it
She's got me and I'm not free so

Bye bye baby, baby good-bye
Bye baby, baby bye bye
Bye bye baby don't make me cry
Bye baby, baby bye bye

Guess I never will know you better
Wish I knew you before I met her
Gee, how good you would be for me
Should have told you that I can't linger
There's a wedding ring on my finger
She's got me and I'm not free so

Bye bye baby, baby good-bye
Bye baby, baby bye bye
Bye bye baby don't make me cry
Bye baby, baby bye bye

Ohhhhhh, ohhhhhh
Bye, baby bye
Ohhhhh, baby try

This was my favourite song by the way.

Damn I was trying to forget them ! THANKS!

God yes i remember them...

They were rubbish.

yh - i saw them in concert

do wap she doobidoo yeah

The band appeared locally about two weeks ago, reckon they were fantastic.

some got done for kiddy fiddling, some got ripped off but some are fine!! I saw them at Mallory Park as a kid at a radio one roadshow there, whereever it is!! I know it was a long drive there as a young child!!

Nope...never heard of them

best teen band of their era ! even had their jumper!
they all fell out towards the end drugs and alcohol involved.

"Bye, Bye Baby"

Somewhat fashion icons also, from what I can remember, although I`m a bit too old for their kind of music, I found they had some catchy tunes.

Fans threw hundreds of thousands of teddy bears at them on stage at their farewell gig, unfortunately they all suffocated under the weight of the teddy bears and died of asphyxia there and then in 1980
(it was bye bye baby for them that evening)

Yeah, I can remember them. They were good!

Can I ever!!! They were great. Their manager, Tam Patton ripped them off and they're all skint.

I think Les is restarting his career and lives in East London (or he did I'm sure).

Don't know about the rest.

I thought they were great, me and my friend had the tartan scarves, and the cut of trousers with the tartan at the bottom.i believe they got ripped of by there manager ,

"so wont u be my be my baby, be my little baby"

I loved them,, they were great..........

As far i was aware they had reformed a few years ago and were back on the club circuit but without the original manager
Dont know if it is still the same lineup but its still the same songs plus new stuff written by Les Mckeown
They are touring this december.
you can find out more here.
Hope this helps
