Winter concert, really nervous?

well i get nervus like everyone else at school concerts. i am first chair violin, or somtimes known as concert master, and well i was ask to do a duet with my private lessons teacher with the choir. well its just backround music. well the bands, orchistra, and choir play about 3 or 4 songs and then we play a song at the end. well i am prety nervus but i am excited cause i was asked to do it. so do you have any tips on how to calm me down and not so nervous so i dont mess up?

Congratulations. Im sure you are excellent musician however if you are nervous, it will show. Say to yourself things like ' A year from now it wont matter' or ' Everyone here is only watching their OWN child, not me and they really dont care about me as much as their own child so I will just simply do my best and look at it as performance experience.' Or say ' what is the worst that can happen?' I will forget and stop playing and walk off the stage'.....and life will go on the next day and it wont be the end of the world' BUT that wont happen. You will do a superior job. So stop thinking about yourself. Act as if you were caring about all the other people there and how THEY do their job and have a good time. Also, eat a good meal several hours beforehand, get a good nights sleep before and pamper yourself that day. I just know you are going to be super and wish I could be there!

Stand in front of a mirror and practice scales. Anything is fun after that.
