I have been trying to find an instrument to play, and I came up with pros and cons of each instrument. Judging from these and your own opinion, which one do you think I should pick up? (There is a video link with each instrument being played if you don't know what one of them sounds like)
[Ukulele]
Pros: beautiful sound, small, electric (optional), easy to play, very available, inexpensive, can be incorporated into many different kinds of music, 4 different varieties, can easily transition into guitar
Cons: I have no emotional connection to sound, very similar to guitar in shape/sound, more poppy/does not blend well with rock

[Shamisen]
Pros: Unique sound, I have a strong connection with the instrument (I LOVE Japan), starting to become popular/as a fusion instrument (Yoshida Brothers, etc.), challenging to learn, good size, both percussive and stringed simultaneously
Cons: Not huge fan of Japanese traditional music, likened to "redneck" instrument and banjo, only makes oriental sounds (not very versatile), hard to find, expensive, only 3 strings

[Synthesizer]
Pros: almost infinite array of sounds, very new technology, can learn to play keyboard simultaneously, some are small, good, and reletively inexpensive, can be beautiful
Cons: VERY expensive, hard to use, not one definitive machine (theres always a better one), everything digital (nothing is real), lots of difficult work on computer, big learning curve, must partially stay at home to create some things
