How long will it take me to play guitar well if I practice 5 times a week 1 hour continupus sessions? |
I will practice using simple hand book that starts you out slow, but mainly how long until I stop getting frustrated and give up, I'm average I guess and I have average finger size. I have never played guitar or any other instrument dude that completely depends on your eagerness....i know a person who has been playin for 5 yrs but hasnt been able to pick up comfortably numb solo...n i know another guy whos been playin for bout 1.5 yrs n shreds almost as good as john petrucci.. it takes however long it takes 3 months. 19 days. 11 hours. 52 minutes. 33 seconds. It all depends on how interested you are in it. If it is just a passing phase, nothing will come out of it. If you are real serious, take a class or find a good teacher. In that way you will stay motivated and will learn correct techniques. Saying one hour a day is not how to really be dedicated to learning anything--if it is what you want and you enjoy it and you are having fun--then time means nothing--you need to find other guitar players and get some helpful hints and support--give this just as much enthusiasm as anything you might try--tennis, golf, drawing--there is no rule about how much time to spend. Focus, focus, focus--practice, practice, practice---good luck. Um...a month? Seriously, how do you expect someone to answer this. Listen to your favorite tracks, find the tablature online and play it until you get it right. Then move on to the next song. Forget the book. You can't teach melody in a book. If you get frustrated, put it down for a week, then pick it up again. Just stick with it, learn strum patterns and think about how the band you're listening to plays the song. |
