Why does tim taylor's neighbor, wilson, in home improvement always have his face covered?

it has always bothered me! why doesn't he ever show his face??

It's just a running gag that caught on. It's supposed to be funny especially when his face is covered in OTHER places! Now that's funny!

He really doesn't even have a neighbor or a family. He is in a mental rehabilitation facility and he hallucinates.

i think its to help his character. hes suppose to be the wise and smart neighbor who tim always goes to for some reason and while he doesnt listen to wilson he is always right. covering half his face gives a more misterious effect to his character, but also gives that idea that he is wise by only showing his eyes and sometimes hair, since they say that you can see a persons personality through their eyes and how wise they are.

He only does it for kicks his real name was Earl John Hindman you can google it I actually liked his character and in case u didnt know , he passed away in 2003 from lung cancer at age 61
