Help!!! I'm directing a college show and my producer has a terrible idea, how do I confront him?

I'm directing a sketch-comedy show for my college's televsion station, and my producer has come up with a skit that I feel is terrible.

He wants to recreate Chris Benoit's (WWF wrestler) murder/suicide for our show and pass it off like it's some kind of a joke. I think 1) it's not a funny subject at all, and 2) it's way too soon to be making fun of something like that.

I've told him I'm not comfortable with the skit, but he doesn't seem to care. The station's Board of Director's have told me they don't like it as well as some people working on the show. I want to stop this skit, but don't want to create a bad working situation at the beginning of the semester. What should I do?

Does anyone else think this is a bad skit to start our season with?

I need some good advice and fast.

WOW That is the worst thing ever. I honestly don't know how to tell the producer. I would just tell someone bellow you to do it. XD
