Buffy the vampire slayer fans, would you answer this for me? |
We麓ve seen that Buffy had a very hard time killing one Turok-han in season 7. That's easy. Dawn and Xander were primerally there to handle the Bringer's but when the Turok-han escaped from the basement it was daytime (Dawn opened the blinds remember) and so unable to step into direct sunlight all they had to do was stay in the light and choose there moments while the Turok-han only had a limited amount of space and to maneuver. The easy answer is, there is no answer. On the director's commentary on the DVD of the last episode Joss Whedon does talk about how easily the uber-vamps are killed and says basically it was done for dramatic effect and it would have been too hard to do it any other way. If it makes it easier for you imagine it's Spike's amulet or Willow's spell that's having the effect. Best guess-- the strongest was sent after Buffy and therefore was highly hard to kill, plus figuring out how to do it was a stumper, but once the toughest one was out of the way and the way to do it discovered, the others were much easier to take down. Don't get me started about season seven. It had some of my most favorite Buffy episodes and yet the entire season had a furious amount of plot holes. Basically, the writers bit off more than they could chew. The season was set up big and made us think that the Scoobs were in an impossible predicament. Instead of having an interesting way to combat this problem with The First, they just came up with easy solutions (see below). And it DEFINITLY did not make sense why Xander and Dawn were putt together as a team. Nor with Anya or Andrew, for that mattter. Anyways, drakiri_nsw is right about the Joss Whedon interview. He didn't have a real reason for this. And I like to think that Syngi's statement about the first Ubervamp being the strongest. But all in all it doesn't add up. Ubervamps, in general, are supposed to be stronger than regular vampires but they fought the Turok-Hans as if they WERE just regular vampires with regular strength. I just bite my lip and enjoy the light show at the end of the episode. LOL. Also, it's unbelievable that Angel show's up with this miraculous amulet that saves them all and destroys Sunnydale. Not to mention that the slayer scythe spell was a little too powerful to be believable. So it seems as though no one was in any real danger and Buffy's pep talks were all for dramatic affect because the Scoobs were handed an amulet, a scythe, a spell they pulled out of their ***, and easier villains than we had been led to believe. |
