Why did Fox kill off Cotton Hill?

I am sad, first The OC, then cotton hill? why not that loser Peggy

yeah it kinda hit me...even tho it is just a cartoon...I guess it when "real" life hits my escapist fare it kinda hits too close to our mortality...

Fox didn't do it. The creator of the show is the one who writes the scripts and story line. Did you know that the guy who was the voice for cotton is the same as the next door neighbor Khan? The good news to him is that he still has a job.

IMO all the adults on the show are caricatures. Only the kids, I think, are fairly realistic. My all time favorite show was the one where Bobby got dumped by the older girl and he laid on the living room floor bawling while hillbilly music played on the stereo.

50 to 60 years ago it was called hillbilly music, the ones about cheating wives, drinking husbands, etc.

Peggy and cotton somehow had a bond.I think.
I'm agreeing with you Cotton did'nt have to die.
It is very sad.
But I think that king of the hill will be popular agin.

How ironic that they killed him off on Vetrans Day, too, being the old soldier he was.

Cotton Hill was a war hero. He gave his shins fighting for Texas.

This very sad and I feel horrible about it. I know it's just a cartoon but I really loved and enjoyed the character of Cotton. When he first showed on the episode I got excited and said ''Finally a good episode''. I didn't think they would kill him the intire episode but when the credits finally aired I was in aww. I actually teared up on it. My girlfriend and I were outraged that they killed off Cotton after Peggy was so mean to him. I despise Peggy Hill and both of us agreed that her character needs to die off. There was no point in killing off Cotton, no point at all.

My favorite is Peggy... but yea, I was shocked when he didnt come back when the machine went code red... -sigh- But I think the show will continue for a long time... I mean its a cartoon and if they can run the Simpsons since the beginning of time then Im sure they can keep their best up!
