Moral Question?

My boyfrined bought me a watch for Christmas. While on vacation together I lost it. Would it be wrong to buy a replacement watch and just tell him that I found it in my luggage? I feel like a total @ss for loosing this watch and while he's too nice to say so I think his feelings are really hurt.

Replace the watch, but don't tell him you found it, let him know you bought, then he'll know how much you liked and appreciated the gift,

I really don't think it is a good idea to lie on top of disappointing your boyfriend. Buy another one and just tell him it meant so much to you that you just had to get another one just like it.

Nope. Make him feel better. It would be one of those nice social lies that doesn't hurt anyone. Um...unless he had something engraved on it that you never noticed...

Just tell him exactly how you feel. That you feel awful and humiliated and that really sad for you that he got you such a nice present and you enougb of a klutz to loose it.

I wouldn't do it, because if by some chance he can tell it isn't the same one, then not only did you lose his watch but you're also a liar.
Honesty is always the best way to go. (I know it sounds corny, but it's true. Much less trouble if you are always straight up with people and don't lie.)

I would tell him the truth. Sure he might be upset at the fact that you lost it but at least you are being honest enough to tell him the truth.

Just tell him because if you guys get to that final step...then you'll be doing this forever so just tell him unless you want to buy replacements for the length of the relationship and then he busts you one day...?

always be honest its whats important in a relationship is bening honest he would be more mad if you lied to him

That is up to you..I wouldn't. He already knows you lost it, what if he finds out you lied to him too?

If he already knows you lost it why lie about it, just be honest.

You need to be able to trust eachother!
Just tell him the truth.
If he really loves/ likes you he'll understand.
Besides, it's the thought of the gift that you should cherish not the object itself.
Even if it hurts his feelings a little bit telling the truth ensures a trusting relationship, wich is more important than a watch.
Just make sure to tell him how grateful you were and how you'll miss the gift and that you're very sorry for misplacing it. <3

i think it's much better if you tell the truth to him,you didn't intentionally lost the watch so it's not your fault..he'll be much hurt if he gonna find out that your lying to him coz what you're planning is some sort of a lie..just tell him you're sorry,he will understand you..

In my opinion, honesty is always the best policy. Besides, if you will lie about this, what will you lie about next. Relationships are built on love, honesty and trust. You need to step into his shoes and think about how you would react if he had lost the watch that you gave him. Yes, we may be disappointed but hopefully, your apology and lesson learned from this experience will result in your being more careful with your belongings so that you don't lose something precious to you and to others.
