Do you get irritated?

when people don't spell out what they are saying. For example:

"Well, idk, i thought u were going 2 the store?

(like, totally)

Sometimes it's just ridiculous! Am I just from the old school? Should I just shut up and get over it? What do you think?

Yes, I get irritated. No, if we give in the machine will run us all down and we'll have to figure out what these ninnies mean and the rest of the world will continue to laugh at the decline of our standards.

it's just faster some times. but when it gets to a certain point it's just annoying.

Yes, it irritates the living daylights out of me. It just shows how lazy our society is and how little respect everybody has for education.

I am right there with you! Drives me crazy. But I think it is because slowly humans are losing the ability to spell.

It can sometimes be annoying and hard to read.

I hear you...I wouldn't say I get irrated, but I do think it's ridiculous. You're not old school at all. people think it's a quicker way of talking, however I think some of those phrases (like "ttyl" for example) take more time to develop and a lot more time to figure out what they mean. I wish people wouldn't do it. it makes them sound less intelligent.

Yes. I get very irritated. I'm paying taxes which support the public schools even though I have no children. I believe in an educated populace and that part of my responsibility as a citizen is to pay my share. However, if this is what is going to come out of the schools because kids are paying more attention to electronic gizmos than school work, perhaps the old school was/is better.

PEOPLE: If you are going to text on your little cell phone, fine for you. This forum doesn't limit you to such small, abbreviated spaces -- get bold, go crazy -- type whole words!
