I feel that way every time I have to go to yet another admissions interview. I sometimes wonder what they would say if I showed up as the real me.

i was an insurance salesman for a while. i had a boss who kept telling me exactly how to act. it drove me crazy

As a working adult I occasionally have to not be myself but other than that, look out everybody!!!

Many, many times. I think it's part of life.

Every single day of my life that I worked. I worked in customer services, and I had to dress sooo boring, and listen to boring music and be polite and apologetic ad nauseum, even if I had no idea what I was apologizing for. I felt so liberated when I quit! I had actually lost who I was somewhere along the way, and I have enjoyed re-discovering who I really am!

I'm never allowed to be myself .... why in fact the last time I was my pratical, back to the basics self ... I went down to the sewers to look for & make me some alligator shoes.

I didn't find any gator's but I found a lot of evidence that solved a lot of police cases ... I made the cops look really, really bad.

As a public servant working in government I was required to be professionally courteous and my personality had to be set aside. After 25 years of that, I finally enjoy myself.
