Sleighbells: Does anyone tend to go "tape happy" when wrapping gifts?

Last year I taped up some of my kids presents in duct tape.
I went around the present like 10 times!
I did it as a joke but sure enough my mother in law comes over and sees the presents like that and said "what the hell is that...it looks tacky"
I also switch names on presents so that my boys may get something like a Barbie Doll and the girls get something like a model car.

I wrap gifts like a 2 yr old. I just throw paper on it, tape it down so you can't see what's inside, toss a bow and a tag on it and call it good.

Nope! I use as little as possible unless I really want to make it hard for the person to open it!! Then I get out the duct tape!!! LOL

No! If you crease perfectly, and tape only where needed, it's much much prettier!

haha! i was helping my nephew last night how to wrap, he was pulling out a foot of tape at a time, i was like do you know how to use a tape dispenser? he said yeah, but i dont want daddy peeking...i have to admit its more fun that way

I try to only use 3 pieces of tape - sometimes four when I wrap a gift - larger gifts get 6 or 8! It sounds like I'm anal when it comes to tape, but I try to use as little as possible - makes opening them so much asier!

I should invest in Scotch Tape....
I make them hard to get into...

Ha ha! I was just thinking that last night. I usually do, but then I realized that I'm down to one roll of tape and still have several gifts to wrap... I'm too lazy to go to the store and get more.

I am hopeless at wrapping....but my problem is not using too much tape....but getting the paper to look the way I want it.

only when i wrap with duct tape and trash bags.

not really, i'm uber-conservative, i bought those little wrist thingys and i cut the pieces that come out of them in half and use them becuz i always think it's too much....wierd huh?

No....I'm pretty on point when it comes to wrapping but the horrible thing is, I hate wrapping so they better be happy if there is something covering the gift making it a surprise.

I have been known to use packing tape and wrap the whole package. It is really funny to watch someone try to open a gift that is covered in packing tape.
