Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?

I went a couple years ago to some old tenements and it was fun, the residents liked us. When we started hearing what sounded like gunfire and an approaching police car, we figured it was a good time to leave the area and wrap it up.

Christmas caroling is fun, and people do appreciate it. I can't say I've ever experienced what you did though. Try a different neighborhood or go to shelters. We went to a battered women's shelter last year (just one of our stops) and some of the moms actually teared up, and the kids loved it.
It can be an amazing experience.

i've gone caroling at the hospital for patients and nurses who are stuck there over the holidays.

My old church youth group used to go to the nursing homes and carol. But I have never been by myself house to house, where I live you might get shot with a sawed off rifle. LOL

That is so creepy, but I have been caroling 3 or 4 times.

I think leaving was a good idea at that point in time. Personally, I would not go caroling because I can't sing and that would be embarrassing. Unless I Sign the song. My neighborhood is pretty mellow though. I live in a small town of mormons and while some of them have strayed, all the ones I know have not and they are all good people. I'm not mormon, but that's okay. Anyway, it's not like when I lived in Long Beach (L.A. area) and heard sirens every 10 minutes and the high speed pursuit on the news was two blocks away and the meth lab 6 doors down blows up. When I hear sirens now, I always hope people are not hurt or their house is not burning. Before, I heard sirens so often, I no longer cared. Sad, very sad. I love it here in Utah.

When was a kid our school caroled at a local nursing home to cheer up the "seasoned citizens"
To timid to do it door to door now. Afraid of hitting an atheist house I guess.
But it is a kewl tradition with the candles, etc.
If your involved with a civic club, bring it up as a suggestion, that way you won't be alone.

You must be very careful in the large cities. Too bad there are people out there to ruin it for everyone else. Yes I have gone caroling, when I was much younger.
