i am leaning more tord emg s/s/81 or s/s/85 pick up set My little bro has the Ibanez gio, which I was really impressed with for it being a starter guitar. Personally, I am partial to Seymour Duncan pickups. My brother dropped the "Seymour Duncan Distortion" pickup in at the bridge position, and it gave the guitar new life....
This depends on what kind of music you like to play, but I'm going to assume you play something in the Metal/punk genre if you have an Ibanez and are looking at EMG's (which are also really nice pickups).
Both EMG's and Seymour Duncans are great pickups that arn't going to let you down. Just be careful not to accidentally purchase "active" EMG's if you do go with EMG....they won't work in your (passive) Gio Oouh, dose look nice. I've never had active pickups. I hear they are great for minimizing noize. The less signal to noise ratio the better. I once built a guitar with no noise whatsoever, it had beautiful feedback tones at high or low volume. I wish I hadn't smashed my computer with it and thrown it out the window. I think you should go with those, or dual humbuckers. |
