What do you think it takes to get into the music industry?

Good looks....I do not think talent is a requirement in the pop music industry now days.
Some good connections would help too.

Talent, looks, connections, and a complete lack of ethics. Not necessarily in that order. . . .

Talent (instrumental, singing, songwriting). Existing fan base (develop that with local gigs). A knowledgeable manager. A good demo. Looks and style appropriate to the genre.

looks and a nice body for girls and guys, because the talent today cannot really sing or dance.

looks and sexual gestures.

nowadays you have to sleep with someone in order to get a deal or look like a model or something.

not brains only beauty and sex appeal!
