Which version do you like better? Let me know what you think of the video! I think the backing music and overall production of Umbrella remakes is the difference. I would therefore have to go with Riahanna's version but the Mandy Moore version is cool too.
Its funny how Umbrella is such a new song but it is being covered by so many artists already. It may be one of those songs where everyone covers like cyndi laupers time- i've heard endless covers.
Umbrella Definately the best song of the year and would possibly be the best song of the decade so far (i may be biased due to the fact that this song may be really 'out' in a few years time)

New Zealand alternative rock band "the Mint Chicks" do a cover of umbrella. I don't really like this one. I would prefer if they rocked it out more. If you like them tho check out their song 'crazy yes dumb no'- its really catchy.

its way more fun Mandy Moore, it sounds like a love ballad when she sings it + when she gets to the hook i dont wanna turn. Rihanna definitely.....especialy the remix with chris brown rihanna
this song was made for rihanna so only her can cop that song rihanna rihanna........her voice, the production and the feeling of the song is rihanna all the way,this song wouldn't fit anyone else,no matter how much hate she gets you have to admit that only SHE can do it in that original,funky and sweet way that made the song top the charts in the first place.
i HATE the chris brown remix by the way but all these remixes proved one thing...people (who more than likely did get caught up in the "umbrella" craze when it came out) can say the hook is stupid but only rihanna can make it sound good... |
