When is the sirius and xm merger going to happen?

If And When they merge it will be around the end of 2007 and into early 2008. New radios will be introduced 6-12 months from then.

5 minutes from now. hope you are prepared! just playing. i don't think they announced a date yet but I am anxious to find out too because I want to see what will happen to all my XM channels

I also am not sure of the date, neither side is projecting anything. But I can't wait!!!!! Hope it does not raise prices

If the deal gets through the approval process with the FCC, FTC and DoJ (and those are big "ifs") Probably by early to mid-2008.

Both stocks have been headed up recently (though not at big levels) so maybe the market knows more than we radio folk. It's entirely possible.

I think it would be a good thing. We'd have the opportunity to select our favorites from both services, especially nice for sports fans.

Hoping to persuade skeptical regulators to approve their proposed merger, the nation鈥檚 two satellite radio companies announced detailed plans Monday to give consumers the ability to choose the programs that make up their subscription package.

The companies, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio, said they would offer two 鈥溍?la carte鈥?pricing plans. One would enable consumers to purchase the best of the premium services now offered by each company 鈥?like professional football, baseball and basketball 鈥?for a monthly fee of $14.99. For $6.99 a month, the other would enable listeners to choose 50 of the nonpremium channels, with each additional channel costing 25 cents. To subscribe to the 鈥溍?la carte鈥?plans, consumers would have to buy new radios.
