Can I transfer XM Radio service to a new Radio? |
Hello, I just bought a new XM Radio at Best Buy and activated the unit and I noticed it's linked to a special serial number. However, I found the unit I bought cheaper online and was wondering if it was possible to buy it online and return the one I got at Best Buy and switch the service over to the new discounted unit. Yes, keep the radio in good condition while you get the one online. When you get the new radio, call XM and tell them you want to switch Radio Id's, its completely free. Then when you get that new one working take back the one you bought at bestbuy. I'm sure they will give you your money back or store credit. Not a problem. Please feel free to email me or im me if you have any more questions. Report It Yes, you can do this. The serial number is mostly just so that XM knows where to send the signal. You could also try to get the radio free at www.SatelliteSweeps.com I don't know the return policy.. but figure that if the radio was activated... they may not take it back.... Yes, either call customer service or visit their web site to transfer your subscription to your new receiver. |
