Why are the real rappers always considered soft? |
like kanye west They weren't always considered soft. i guess many people don't like people who act like themselves and don't pretend. Because they don't put on that fake thug act. i dont know thats news to me Everybody wants an excuse to treat someone else badly. This crap about mc's...all it means is master of ceremonies! The person in charge of running a show! its the stereotype established by the rappers like 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, alot of southern rappers, & more. its the same as in real life scenarios like high school, if you study and get really good grades and dont be wildin out like the other crazy n i g g a s there who think there what "hard" or "gangsta" is, then u jus soft. In comparison, if you're a rapper and rap about political issues, science (Canibus), or anything off subject (gangsta rap, pistol whippin, killin) then you a bit**. I dunno. Take Cormega for example. All the hiphop heads insist nas kills him, and that cormega is "soft" but i think cormega is the stronger person if you ask me. Because most "hard" rappers have a much bigger image to uphold with the stories... most considered "soft" rappers happen to focus more on the lyrics.. the hard rappers have some decent lyrics but the beats take over the song for the most part... Like who? Guess because they dont conform to the so called norm of how a rapper is SUPPOSED to act...lol Man thats one dumbass question.Back then all rappers came from a gang and thay was gangbanggers. In new york but back thennot all gangs was bad or some sh!t.In the hood where im from soft rappers are the ones that gave up on the rapps when their battling.Like in miami go to any hood thay call each other ***** and ***** why because its just the why its always been. because people in general do not appreciate genuine artistry. people have been conditioned to believe that the toughest looking and sounding rappers are the best; therefore, they associate hip hop in general with this inflated masculine thug imagery. you don't even have to be talented haha, as long as you look and act the part. plus, major labels aren't interested in true artist development anymore, simply profitable artists who are disposable. Because there are alot of people who don't know how to be themselves anymore....and when someone is "real" with themselves and does things out of the ordinary with their looks or lyrics...(your example: Kanye dresses different, raps different) then they are the outcast and marked soft. There are too many followers and not enough leaders nowadays. doesn't matter if they are hard or soft to me it's all in the lyrics...rapping about shooting etc...is whack rap because they don't really do it and aren't smart enough to rap about positive issues or anything that takes more brain cells, ie..50 cent, lil wayne, the game, etc..they are the reasons for the downfall of hip hop but yet a lot of ignorant ppl like them it blows my mind........ What? I actually see it the other way around. Fake rappers always seem more soft too me. Think bout it... Probably because they are rapping about real things that mean something to them rather than rapping about hoes, cars, money, and how much money they have. Apparently its "cool" to act thug, and thats what most mainstream rappers do, so when someone comes along rapping about real life things that actually matter rather than rapping about how many people they have killed or how gangster they are... people think they are soft. because being real isn't what's good anymore, most kids nowadays think killing, drugs, and money is everything and if some "rapper" comes along and "raps" about that they're the coolest thing ever[not]. nobody wants to listen to real music anymore, and it's a shame. cuz hes talkin bout god and not cappin sum one up in church dats y I don't know like someone said it's an image certain rappers have to put up like 50 cent. I mean yeah you got shot maybe 9 times but who cares? Be original for christsakes... Yeah perhaps you've been in hard situations but don't dwell on it make something even better of it. Some people simply come from different lifestyles, maybe certain rappers didn't have to live in a project and they talk about what they know. They are not soft they are just from a different place and do things their way not to join the bandwagon when they know that would be lying to the audience. Because society loves to glorify hip hop and rap in the name of money, drugs && h*oe$ because the real rappers aren't seen as mc's and real mc's aren't seen as real rappers, case in point, jay-z is a real emcee, yeah he can flow, because he controls the stage and crowd, but Nas is a real rapper, nuff said... Cause they rap too slow lol |
