Why do yall think Kanye's graduation outsold 50's curtis album???
who is the better lyricists?? I don't think 50 is better. I think he has a better voice..that's it. Lets break it down.
Kanye is arrogant, self assured, spotlight hoggin, casual dressing, outspoken hip-hop artist, that appeals to a lot of the pop culture as well as the older adult.
50 cent is also arrogant, i will will at all cost, shine in you face, beat em down, type personality that reaches out to the white culture that loves that "gangsta rapper type"
In my opinion, Kanye simply outold 50 cent cause he makes music that reaches the masses. The younger person can listen to kanye as well as a "seasoned" individual, and really feel where he is coming from. I am around his age and I bought his cd becuase it hit home more than 50's did. He also sold big becuase thoses that love pop music also copped that album as well.
50, on the other hand did surprise me when he did not outsell Kanye. I figured that the part of the white music consumer that is into 50 would boost up his sales and make it so that he does outsell kanye, but the exact opposite occurred. I noticed less people did not buy his album becuase most (that I have came in contact with) stated they didn't buy 50's album because it did not measure of to get rich or die trying, nor was it that good all togther. Some even said they wer at the point of being tired of buying rap/hip-hop music becuase they don't feel like always hearing about money,cash, cars,jewlery,violence and so on.
These rappers need to understand that yes, the younger generation is buying up rap music like crazy, hell any rap, whether its good or bad, but they must also understand that the population is made up mostly by those over the age of 27, and they have the most buying power when its all said and done.
Kanye made music for everyone, while 50 is still on the same crap i.e. I still kill, kanye swithched it up and made music for those around his age, younger and older.......whala ...he out sells 50.
To keep it real, I know they are both stuck up, but I do feel kanye puts a little more effort in his work, thus making him the better lyricist.
For the record, I HAVE LIKED KANYE EVER SINCE HE WAS ON MTV AND SAID GEORGE BUSH DON'T LIKE BLACK PEOPLE !!!!!! And I have supported him ever since! I was shocked. I like 50 better!! His music is better and definitely has a better attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly I wasnt suprised either way I think 50 cent is better but hes getting cocky and its annoying people causing to lose alot of fans when Kayne West is raising up.

I think he is the better lyricst their both arrogant I figured KW would out sell 50 because his music reaches more people so to answer your question really neither every once in a while they both make some good songs. When you make a career out of beefing with unworthy opponents just to sell records, sooner or later, you're going get get found out. If you've heard one 50 Cent album, you've heard them all - there wasn't really any reason for people to buy his new album. kanye sold more cus he appeals to more people. he is more versatile than 50 is. with kanye you never know what you're going to get. with 50... you know! (lol) kanye's album was good and thats why he outsold him...he also opens his mouth when he talks...

P.S. unlike the comments above me, I bought both albums, so quit the white boy listening to 50 bullsh!t. If you live near white people you know they were all over Kanye and Dipset this year. kanye tops 50cent in everything I think that people are ready for a change and that is something you are just not going to get from 50.
