Personally, I love it.

This is what hip hop was built on; braggadocio and bravado. Why be in it if you don't feel like you're the best at it. What kind of rapper would he be if he didn't feel that way.

Rap was founded on cockiness and competition, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

They both shouldnt be saying it there both not skilled.

A lot of rappers claim to be the greatest to a certain extent, but Lil Wayne just won't shut up about it. I don't think Jay-Z has made those claims with any arrogance above and beyond anyone else in the game, plus he's not the only one who says it - plenty of his peers see him as the greatest too. But Lil Wayne just takes it too far. There's a difference between a normal rapper's cockiness and some kind of delusional God complex.

Well I'll try to be polite... Lil' Wayne doesn't have talent enough to be considered the GOAT never... GOAT doesn't mean TREND...

I don't see none of these new rappers deserving the title of the GOAT.

Lil Wayne's style is largely influenced by Jay Z. With that said if there was no Jay Z, there would be no Wayne as we know him now. Jay has been out far more years than Wayne, he still has a lot more years, albums and innovation to prove before he can claim that title.

Jay-Z boasts that he is the 'Best rapper alive', not the G.O.A.T.

He's also stated recently (XXL) that he doesn't mind the comparisons with Wayne, but thinks Wayne needs to get a few more 'classics' under his belt before proclaiming it quite so much.

Wayne been out since the 90's and he finally getting his shine. He better just accept that. Nobody really respects Wayne. And people say he is featured on everybody album? No he is not. When have you heard him rapping anytime with:

UGK, Young Buck, Jeezy, T.I, Ball and G. These are all the top dudes in the South and they havent united with this dude.

Because Weezy is not even close to the top of the list.

I agree with 187 and butter b. Yall both hit it on the mark. They both are cocky, but I would rather see it through jay than wayne.

A lot of people don't understand that QUANITY does not equal QUALITY.

Hence, just cause you have a lot of albums and collabos doesn't make you the best!

how do you have a GOAT of rap? music is somethng that is not measurable. how would it be determined?
