Why do you thnk Rap...?

is hated on by so many people? it tells a story through the eyes/voice of an individual. isnt that what rock does, profanity and all? so why is it that rap is this bad music media, yet rock is acceptable to most people young and old?

I find it funny, that yet again, people are turning a simple question into a race issue! Why make everything about race? I just don't like rap cause it is not my style of music. Seems more like talking than singing and to many rap songs today steal the beat from another song. I do not like rock songs that talk about exploiting women and violence so it has nothing to do with whether it is rap or rock for me. There are plenty of rap songs that deliver a good message. I just hate when people like , 50 cent, are glorified and looked up to when he is nothing but a thug crack dealer off the street. I look for people that my children can listen to and not be taught that women are all about being b*tches and about getting on thier knees. Does not matter if it is rock or rap or country or anything else.

cause its mostly african americans. ITs a way to hate and be prejudice against blacks without looking prejudice. so instead of someone saying they dont like black people, they can say, I hate rap and its music.!! which most of the times means they hate blacks and everything about them.

its all in taste. rock started way back when and thats why older people like it. it has been passed on to their kids. rap is newer. older people dont like it because they dont understand how music has changed sooooo much. many people like rap you just have to find them

one because of the fact it was something AFRICAN AMERICANS CREATED (SOMETHING THAT CERTAIN WHITE PEOPLE WILL NEVER LIKE CAUSE THEY DIDNT THINK OF IT FIRST) and two probably because of the violence that it has incorporated.... you still have to rememeber the music industry is predominately owned by WHITE PEOPLE so of course they want their hands in everything, but that doesn't mean they like the music. they just like the money they get off of it. how many white CEO'S DO YOU THINK GO HOME AND LISTEN TO 50 CENT I GET MONEY? OR LIL WAYNE POP BOTTLES? NO they see dollar signs! and listen to BARRY MANALOW

Rap is not hated by everyone.-----Those people who have not yet graduated from grade school still enjoy Rap.
