im with ya homegirl. I think it's a very ignant thing to spend your money on. Rappers are always complaing that labels are keeping them down yet it seems like they're doing a good job of it themselves.
Thinks about this... Why do rappers wear chains? Chains were used to control slaves back in the day. Why do rappers reffer to their cars as whips? Why do rappers still use the N-word even though this was an offensive saying? The only people they have to blame is themselves....

They have the money to waste. Being a gem collector...I would go all out too...

Agreed... I think the money spent on their jewelery would have been better used in the communities they worked so hard to escape.

i think they are so used to having nothing that when they get some money they want to let everyone know that they have it. i agree w/u it is a waste.

I think it's a waste of money personally cuz that money could be better spent, but it's whats hot right now I guess.

The big jewelry covers up their lack of confidence. It's not stylish...it's clowinsh, just like a woman wearing gobs of makeup.

If they want to spend their money on nice things they have a right to.

Real talk. Imagine that you never had ANYTHING in your life. Sure you had enough to survive but you never got what you wanted cause you could never afford it. What would be the first thing you would do once you blow up really big. If you say invest... you're lying.

And a specific example of people other than rappers splurging: Some prince sent about $5mil in jewelery to Mariah Carey. Don't think that was a little extravagant.

Besides most rappers have financial advisers just like other celebrities to help them invest their money wisely.

And a lot of rappers also give back to the community.

Waste of money & selfishness. You don't need jewelry to live. That jewelry money needs to go to the less fortunate, like the homeless, the sick, & the elderly. Too many people dying of starvation. Also, I HATE when people FLAUNT off their jewelry, & they wonder why their asses get robbed! That's sort of like teasing & provoking people, trying to MAKE them jealous. If it weren't for that, bodyguards probably won't have to be necessary.

it shows how uneducated these rappers are. They have no idea what to do with their money because they never took a finances class in college. Since they have never seen so much money in their filthy paws they go and spend it on luxories. THe lamborgini's, the diamonds, the clothes. and rappers quickly go in and out of style. so when they aren't popular anymore and aren't get anymore money.. they have nothing saved and so they are dirt poor again.

Rappers are so piled up with money they need something to spend it on. Cars? Check. Oversized House? Check. They could spend it on an education or cancer research but no, they decide to watse it on the most ridiculous thing you could think of : Jewerly.

Hell... They can afford it and i'm sure they invest their money. Rappers aren't as dumb as people think they are.

It's to show their indivuality and how high class they are. Like having a cross medallion and a uzi as well. And it shows kids that if you want to be rich, sell drugs, shoot people, then stop it and "sing" about it. But most have to give it back to the props department after the video shoot is over.

they only wear it because it's part of their character in the entertainment business.they usually don't wear it at home,only when the cameras are on them.

man why would he spend his money on that? Their are so many better chains in this world. Helping out his community wouldn't hurt either.

personally i think its a waste but i really dont like it when they make a whole song about there bling cause i cant afford that **** so how am i suppose to relate to there music. i would rather listen to a rapper talk about real ****.

Unfortuanately rappers are dumb. Record labels take HUGE advantage of them and make a lot of money off of the artists sales. UGK did a song about it and then they got hit for tax fraud when it was their managers fault. Big Bling is not cool to me at all (I can't hate on Ghosts eagle tho) Pitbull doesn't wear bling and invests it in real estate. Most rappers don't have NEAR as much money as they make you think they have. The rap game doesn't pay out that much. David Banner said you can make so much more money in movies than in music. Why do you think so many rappers are trying to turn to acting? Here are the big 3 rappers with money- Diddy, 50, Jay. Most of the money they have isn't from rapping either.

No if that's what they want to do with their money then so be it, personally I enjoy seeing the different jewelery each one wears and shows off....

It's their money let them do what they want with it. And if you really don't like it, stop buying albums and songs and they won't be getting the money to do it.
