X Factor phone in scam. Last week I said it was a fix?

When there was only 1% difference between Leon and Rhydian I tried to phone. Placing my vote for Rhydian, the message received was try later. Next, the phone lines had closed so how many more votes were blocked destined for Rhydian. The outcome may have been different given more time allowing for all the votes cast.

Proud Walker: I didn't do it last week, in fact I have not voted this year at all till now because of the phone in scams and lost trust in it totally. The one time I try, I can't place a single vote.

Maybe someone will explain to me how a guy that sings out of tune week after week due to his nerves beats a guy who oozes professionalism.

I can't believe that they're still running those phone in competitions on programmes like GMTV. It can only mean that that thousands or tens of thousands of people are still phoning in Sorry but I think it's just weird.

I only got through once and never got through again discusting would like to see the votes score.
After show is like a balloon being slowely deflated so do not think the result was good for them.
Leon give him his due one night it counted he sang but what about all the other terrible weeks?

I voted at least 20 times for Rhydian, because he was the most talented... not because of where he came from.

I didn't experience what you did on the phone, but think Scottish people vote for Scottish people, even when they a haven't got personality or a good voice...

Same happened with Leon but unlike you we kept voting untill we got though. we had to phone 4 times untill we got though. So there your theory does

how could Leon win...I mean even I voted tonight..it's awful,Iam disappointed,i feel bad for Rhydian being known as the runner up,he was robbed.

Yeah that happened with me as well, eventually I got through 3 times, but the amount of times the lines were unavailable was about 20 times that!

At the end of the day if the lines were so busy because so many people were voting for Rhydian, then why TF didn't he win????????? I want my 拢1.05 back, thieving b@stards!

Same here, I havent voted all series on X factor because I have lost confidence during the recent scams but last night when they said they're was 1% between them, I thought I'd better vote. I tried several times throughout the 2/3 hours and was never able to get through to Rhydian's number - infact, it rang engaged before the number had finished dialling!!

It was a fix and it should be seriously investigated by OFCOM.

I had the same problem constantly voting for Leon.

I would expect that all three numbers were overloaded from Lines Open to Lines Closed on Saturday. So while listening to the recorded message (if you got through), 'Thank you for calling x-factor, your vote for Leon has been recorded' you would be blocking another caller until you hung-up. The word Leon actually takes less time to say than Rhydian or Same Difference. It's only milliseconds but for the number of calls they received, this tiny difference can allow more votes for Leon.

If what I say is right, the result would be a predictable Leon, Rhydian and then Same Difference.

its very simple. If your running a show like this its make it very appealing to be able to go into he final minutes telling everyone there is just 1% in it, thus keeping the tension going. All you do is make sure there are less phone resources available then needed. This means whoever people vote for the maximum number of people voting at any one time and actually getting through will be the same, because for both singers there are more people phoning than can be handled. It just means more people will get an engaged signal for the true winner, as seems the case with Rydian. You are guaranteed that the voting will be around 50% for both singers.
