What is the best rock memoir you've read?

I am looking for some reading material for a college level literature class, any book is fair game. what rock memoir do you recommend?

Here, There and Everywhere by Geoff Emerick.

He was the recording engineer for the Beatles, as well as Wings and several other groups. The book chronicles his days working for EMI, his work with the Beatles, and the creation of new (and now overused) sounds.
A very interesting read for anyone who likes the Beatles or the way records were created!

Just finished The Heroin Diaries. Man, was he f%ked up..., and like the the others, Scar Tissue, The Dirt. Also, No One here gets out alive. Marvin Gaye's was great too.

That one is a no brainer "No One Here Gets Out Alive"
If you haven't heard of it ,it's the definitive biography of Jim Morrison.

Get In The Van, by Henry Rollins. It's basically Henry's journal from his years in Black Flag. You see why Henry comes across as really angry most of the time. It also can be hilarious at times.

THE DIRT by motley crue. its the best rock autobiography you will ever read.
