It had this Western song playing in it and it always showed right before Metallica broke into their first track. Maybe it's on You Tube or something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI0TAk1e-... I don't have this link, but I did need to give you corrections to directions given to you on the NYC Travel board. .
-The 1 Train does go to South Ferry, but it has not stopped there ON THE WEEKENDS for a couple of years (construction at the Ferry terminal). So if you are traveling on the weekends use the R train. Also check for travel advisories on the MTA official website. These lines closure disruptions also effect all lines near South Ferry. You'll find these changes under the Major Construction section.
- The 79 Bus does not stop at the train Station on New Dorp Lane (it travels on Hylan Blvd).
After getting off the Ferry on the Staten Island side, either take the 76 Bus to New Dorp Lane and Hylan Blvd. Then Walk a couple of blocks south on Hylan Blvd
OR
Take the SIRT to New Dorp Lane here you could wait for the 76 BUS to take you five blocks to Hylan Blvd I would walk the five blocks. The Bus may not show up for 20 minutes
- The Website the poster gave you for the ferry is not the official website for the Staten Island Ferry - The official site is at the New York City Department of Transportation (see the link below). The schedules may be the same, but I would use the boat info from the DOT I'm not sure who runs that site she gave you.
I believe that young Lady is well meaning, but she may not have made this trip before. By the way as you are walking down New Dorp Lane towards Hylan, there is a really good Chinese Restaurant on the other side of the street. It's a large place with a glass dinning room about a block and a half away from the station. Nice place, I eat there with my daughter often. |
