Some good bands??

whats up people
i was wondering if anyone had good suggestions for bands or singers. ima layed back lazy surfer boy whose just a beach bum. i like listening to jimmy buffett and john mayer, but i used to listen to heavy rock... i wanna slow down the tempo a bit. what are some good bands or singers??

One band-Sublime

Beach Boys are surf rock, and Chuck Berry plays some songs in sorta of surf rock style. Dick Dale as well. All are great and legendary.

hMm.. i don't know exactly what your type of music is. you may want to try jimmy eat world, the hush sound, and voxtrot. Hope you like some of those bands!

For the beach, go with Dick Dale, Beach Boys, Honk, The Aquamen and Elvis can't surf. Here's a bunch more:

In general, I stick with classic rock these days: Boston, Styx, Foreigner, Journey, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Aerosmith, etc.

I personally love Death Cab For Cutie, nice and mellow with really witty lyrics, Postal Service too (both bands fronted by Ben Gibbard) or Mates of State who they toured with. There's also New Order, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Hellogoodbye, Angels and Airwaves, some late Blink 182 stuff, It all depends on what you're looking for. I also like Social Distortion, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, that sorta thing.
