Where can you check out new music?

if someone recomends a band or song/album.. where can you listen to them on the web to see if you like them.. i usually go to youtube but is there another site where you can listen to new stuff.

Download WinAmp and check out the ShoutCast radio stations. There are thousands of free stations.
