What's the hottest rock drum solo?

What's the hottest rock drum solo?

john bonham (led zeppelin) i think song is moby dick

my vote goes to the drum solo in Tool's "46 and 2". Insane time signature. Not a drummer myself, but it sounds reeeeeally hard.

oh yeah and another insane one is Godsmack's "Battle of the Drums" both the drummer and th elead singer play a set together and its insane...trust me.

311 has an awesome drum solo that chad (and the rest of the band) plays live. Try to YouTube it or something, or better yet go see em. Its pretty tight.

I've been a fan of Rush for about a thousand years now, so Neil Peart HAS to be considered...
The best drum solo I've ever seen is a toss- up...
It falls to either Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, or to Jeff Beck's drummer (it's a drag, but I don't even know the guy's name!)
Sorry, but these are all live references!

I agree with the fella above me...Batalla de los Tambores or Battle of the Drums is freakin' amazing!

anything by Neil Peart (Rush)
"Moby Dick" -John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
"Toad" - Ginger Baker (Cream)
"Rat Salad" Bill Ward (Black Sabbath)

Moby Dick- Led Zeppelin
Some song by Jeff Beck, with that Carmine dude on it, I heard it on XM Radio, and I was blown away...I just can't remember the name!

John "Bonzo" Bonham- Moby Dick
Neil Peart-YYZ- from exit stage left
Tommy Aldridge is one of the greatest drummers out there playing for Whitesnake

Jon H nailed it..."Moby Di-k" is the greatest...specifically, the live version from Los Angeles, 23 June 1977, long available on the "For Badgeholders Only" bootleg. Keith Moon sat in with Bonham during the solo that night, turning it into a drum duel...you can't get any better than that, boys and girls. As a drummer myself, watching John Bonham in action makes me sick...he made it look so f-cking easy. Too bad he had to go and be stupid one day and knock off a 40 of vodka to himself...oops.

Screw Neil Peart and his soulless, over technical proficiency and Ayn Rand influenced mumbo-jumbo. Bonham was, and always will be, the MASTER, followed by Keith Moon and Ginger Baker.
