Who are the Foxboro Hot Tubs?

i found a link to their my space page, and it seems that this is another 'secret green day' band? does anyone know anything about this?

There is only much speculation now. Clearly you can tell it is Billie Joe's voice. It sounds more like his vocals in Kerplunk! (kind of not as polished as the new stuff but good nonetheless). Some of the bass lines also parallel to Mike Dirnt's. In the song Highway 1, the speaking in the beginning is without a doubt Tre Cool. If you have every heard his rendition of chocolate rain, he says at the end "you're doing it fcking wrong". This exact line is in the beginning of Highway 1.

On their myspace page on their top friends is the producer of The Network's Money Money 2020. Most of the other people on their top friends live in Oakland too (where the member's of Green Day live). I believe there is enough information to conclude that members of Green Day are involved in this.

Also, even their page lists them as "unsigned". How many unsigned artists do not put pictures of themselves all over the place? If it were a true unsigned band they'd want their image out everywhere.

In an interview with the Rolling Stone, Billie Joe had said that they have a bunch of songs written on piano. Possibly the Foxboro Hot Tub's songs are these. The style is clearly something new which is what Billie Joe said the new songs they had were.

If you look on the art work of their online album, there is a symbol of the church of lushotology (it's like a ram looking animal). The Network members are supposedly "avid members" of the church of lushotology.

With this evidence I do believe it is another "secret" band of Green Day. Hope this helps.

I totally agree! It definitely has to be Billie Joe! I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Mike and Tre' are a part of it too! I can't wait to hear/see more of them!

the vocals are definitely done by Billie Joe.
at the beginning of Highway 1 there is a short clip of Tre Cool speaking in a British accent
the background vocals sound like Mike and live guitarist Jason White. they both did background vocals on the American Idiot album.

it sounds soooooo much like billie joe's voice, more from dookie/nimrod. the backrounds are a lot like mike, and the bass lines sound a LOTTTT like mike. plus, on the website, they have the symbol for the "church" that the network follows, and its obvious the network have the members of green day. plus, on the band's myspace page, there is almost no information as to who they are, where they're from, etc..no names, no pictures, no real bio or anything. its veryyy possible


if you listen like 30-32 seconds in to Ruby Room, it sounds exactly like the part before the chorus in Green Day's song Hitchin a Ride

It's Green Day, this first surfaced on friday 7th Dec 07 on Green Days Idiotclub (the bands official fanclub). It was announced that GD were nominated for a Grammy for their Working Class Hero cover, but someone on the fanclub changed the list of nominees and included an unknown band called the Foxboro Hot Tubs, this got people talking about who this band were, shortly after links were sent thru the fanclub to a few members by someone extremely close to the band. Links given were to the Foxboro Hot Tubs myspace and website, fans then leaked it onto other GD forums and since then it has taken on a life of it's own.

It's obviously Billie-Joe Armstrong singing and has undertones of several GD songs/projects mixed in with a 60's sound, overlapping with elements of the kinks, beatles, animals and punk sounds of the ramones and the clash.

Green Day fans are loving this new project/sound.
