ramones to be specific. i have been in love with these shoes forever and with christmas coming i want to get them. they wont because they dont like how the ramones sound. not because of language or anything. just because they are ROCK. what should i do to convince them to let me have them? thanks. here's a link to them.

Find out what bands your parents like, and let us know - that way we can compare, similize , etc. ...whatever. 2. tell your parents "Come on guys! Do you not realize? Still , i bet if you listed what bands your folks liked , Fonzie and i could give you some facts on THOSE bands that would make your parents rethink about letting you get those shoes. LOL! Just get the regular, cheaper Converse All-stars the band wore back in the day if you wanna emulate the look. if you want them bad enough save up for them or get a job find some shoes with a cross on it. That sucks,just have your parents sedated = ) They're way overpriced I would remind them of when they were young and their parents didn't like something they liked. I'll bet they thought their parents were being SO unfair. Then ease into the fact that they don't use profanities, don't encourage drugs, don't throw things out of motel rooms (If they do forget that one!) and that your a good kid doing the right thing. If that doesn't work just steal them and change your shoes before you get home. haha Don't steal them. tell them that you like them, or maybe they want to get them for you for christmas, and they dont want you to get them before shoes at hot topic are fine >.<
mmm...if they just won't buy them for you, ask for gift cards from hottopic from other people and get them yourself...but if the won't let you have them period.umm...sneak and buy them =S Tell them they have a bad taste in music and that they can shove pop up their butt, and then get the money(allowance, job, whatever) and get them without them knowing. Here I am dang near 50 years of age and last year for Mother's Day, my two lovely teen children bought me a pair of Draven Sex Pistols shoes. I have never thought I would receive such a thoughtful gift from my children. I got out my old Sex Pistols albums and we all slam danced around till we just plain gave out.
Last week I was chaperoning a group of fourth and fifth graders for three days and my kids surprised me with a Ramone's hoodie with Hey Ho Lets Go in huge letters.

Listen. If your parents object, obey your parents. I don't particularly like having Screamo or Chiodos rammed into my ears. Maybe they don't really dislike the Ramones. If they are like me, maybe they are tired of hearing the same song over and over and just want a break.
I suggest you sit down and ask your parents to listen to your music and find something they like or at least don't dislike. Make your music fun for them by dragging them out of the Lazy-boy and getting them to shake and bend a little. Get them laughing with you. Bring your parents into your world a little and at the same time try to be more a part of theirs by continuing to be a respectful child.
It sounds like you are about to reach the age when your parents will likely let you start making your own decisions if you continue to prove yourself.
Maybe they will soften. Maybe not. Don't let a thing like a really cool pair of shoes become an issue that divides you. you should do what your parents tell you and follow the rules Here is the same shoes excepting without the words Ramones on them. Just make your own.
Cheaper, more creative, and they feel better too.
I took an old pair of converse, and painted Clash stuff on them with a bit of watered-down acrylic paint.
Plus, those won't be hard to duplicate. buy your parents the shoes you want for their Christmas present wow, are they stuck in the fifties or something??
tell them Rocks not a bad thying anymore, actually, my grandma likes some of it!! and shes into to folk music!!
I introduced some good eighties classics to her and she liked them!! crazy!
but seriously, tell your parents all music is great and inspirational and they cant not let you listen to something just cause of fuallty notions!!

tell ya what, look up some U2 music and show them the lyrics (I would go with their softer songs though, like the album "all that you cant leave behind) and have them listen. U2 is the biggest (and best) ROCK band there is, and their lyrics and melodies are some of the most amazing ever!
