What are some good ballad songs?

What are some good new ballad songs? I'm looking for somthing along the lines of "Wake me up when September Ends" by Green Day or "When you're gone" by Avril Lavigne. Are there any other good ballad songs? I want to add some others to my playlists for those long dark winter days.
