What band got u into rock?

For me- The Monkees...which were my gateway to The Beatles.

that is so sad, Ozzy Osbourne got me into rock, I heard Iron Man and I was totally hooked, so I checked out other stuff and thats where i am now :)

I've always been a rocker !

Once I was able to control that old dial, it was Santana, Black Sabbath, Elton John, Aerosmith, CCR, CSNY, Doobies, Eagles all the way !!

Well i listened to Rock here and there [but I swayed towards pop-rock.. bleh], but never truly got into it until listened to Guns N' Roses.
After GNR i started getting into many different types of Rock, most of the music i listen to now is /very/ different from Guns N' Roses [Gothic rock, Deathrock, Punk rock.. etc] but they remain my favourite band.

I grew up without MTV, so when my parents eventually got cable, I was hooked. And as MTV likes to replay the same things over and over (and over) again, I watched the Smashing Pumpkins over and over (and over) again. So they were my first favorite rock band.

I always liked rock n' roll, but the first band that really got me into rock was Guns n' Roses.

Snow Patrol got me into music...period. Rock too.

It would have been in the late 70s and i think it was either Sabbath or Deep Purple.

Oasis. I realise there is a lot better out there now

Well...The Beatles of course! I was but a young squirt when I saw them on The Ed Sullivan Show in late '63 and the rest is history!

my dad played Heart, Janis Joplin, Hendrix, and Pink Floyd when I was a young lass. And well today...I love rock and most of its sub genres.

Well, we all have to start somewhere. I thought i was a rocker by listening to INXS. But i was shown the error of my ways when a friend lent me an Iron Maiden tape.

I always listened to rock here and there, but mostly what my parents played. But, the bad that really got me into rock was Creed. Now, especially with the internet, i listen to all sorts of rock. Alternative, like Taking Back Sunday; Metal, like Metallica;Metalcore, like the Devil Wears Prada; and so much more.

I still listen to a little rap now and then, though. Mostly old school gangsta rap, though.

for me it was Disturbed....when i was littler my older brother was big into rock and metal and i heard "down with the sickness" one time and i was hooked...i was probably like 8 or 9, anyways i got really hooked to them and thats when i entered into rock and metal music....

Remember it depends on when you were growing up as to what bands nabbed you-so in chronological order it would be The Beatles,(early childhood),Cream,Deep Purple,Styx & Led Zep were huge influences. There's a lot of later influences,but these were what got me playing.

Well I remeber the fist song I ever heard on the radio (That I can remember!) was Alice Coopers Poison and that was when I was 4 so yeah thats what got me into rock been there ever since and I'm 14. Thanks Alice Cooper You ROCK!
