Is there any difference between Neil Young Live at Massey Hall and his bootleg Going back to canada?

Damn...I used to have "Going Back To Canada" too! Good show, but I prefer Neil's grungier side, so I decided it was disposable, and subsequently erased from my computer.

Actually, I haven't heard "Live At Massey Hall", but, if the differences between "Winterlong" and "Live At The Fillmore" are any basis, I'm guessing Massey Hall has had the sound cleaned up (of course), and has probably been edited a bit.

"Live At The Fillmore" is shite compared to the "Winterlong" bootleg, which, though it's a soundboard, is kinds of fuzzy, but at least it's the complete, unedited show! Of course, you'll find that with almost any comparison between the bootleg and the official live album...most OLA's are edited, remixed, remastered and, the worst of them have been overdubbed to death.

Look at the travesty they call the "New, Expanded" version of Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains The Same" live album...it is covered in this godawful, totally fake sounding reverb, and though it presents itself as "The complete show" is anything but! All of the epic songs are edited (Jimmy Page should be strung up by his toes for what he's done to "No Quarter"!!!). I've got the bootlegs of all three nights at Madison Square Garden, '73 the album is based on, and I'll take my fuzzy in places, soundboard with audience patched boots over the official album any day!!!!

I wonder which performance Neil's going to pull out of the hat next...one of the 1984 Catalyst Club shows with Crazy Horse would get my vote...if you've never heard the bootleg, well, every Neil Young fan needs to, 'cos it's easily the best thing he did in the 80's!
