Whats better present or past music ?

Past music is best.A lot of new stuff is just samples of old stuff done with a club dub or cover versions.As John Lennon once said "Before Elvis there was nothing".Sometimes it seems that after him there was less,with a few rare exceptions.Keep on rockin` with the past and you won`t go far wrong.

past, on account of there really isnt any real music today.

Present music sucks, but also the word "past" is in the eye of the beholder. Im 22 and would consider bands such as Nirvana and Metallica past music but my grandparents would label anything made after 1970 present music

I don't think either is "better".
There are great older bands as well as present bands. It may seem like there are no good bands around at the moment [i felt the same] but you need to look deeper that what's commercial - there are great bands that aren't given as much recognition as they deserve, you just need to know where to look.

If you mean Chart music, then fair enough. Although every once in a while a gem appears, and by all contrasts they sound even better. So does that mean the New Led Zeppelin Album is sh!t?

I think that older music used to be a lot more original, and I like it because of the memories. However, some new stuff is not bad at all. I think both past and present music have their ups and their downs. I can't accurately judge music because of their time period...

Past. I think only some of the music today is okay, but I prefer 90's music.

Past music is much better but there are always a few artists that are current that are original and talented.

Good present music is far and few between but there is sum but the past is full of golden classics so it has to be the past

Past music! I really hate new music (no offence to people who like it) I only like music from the 60's- 80's.

There is always some talent worth listening to around. Don't completely block everything available at the moment - there really are some seriously good people out there - you just need to be open minded enough to bother to listen!

I like both equally. I think it's silly to hate on present music or past music simply because it's new or old. And essentially, that's why people hate on it. They say it's all cuz new/old stuff blows, but....... it's really about wether it's new or old, not if it sucks or not.

I will agree with you, most new music is total bo11ocks. But when it comes to modern music, it's all about what you listen to. To be honest, my opinion of older music isn't very high, but im also very picky about modern music too, even though my taste is pretty diverse. Even though i preach about them all the time, the most diverse and adaptable modern band is Hurt. They can suit most music tastes. On the one hand, they play fairly heavy metal music which have the best rhythms, plots, and sounds, while on the other hand they release just as many acoustic and blues songs, which include the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. Just before you completely lose your faith in modern music, listen to a range of Hurt's songs, and listen to the plots involved with their songs. They'll convert ya

i happen to like both there are a lot of songs i dont like but there are a lot of past songs i dont like it depends on personal taste but i do have to agree that sex drugs and rock n roll is what made rock music shouldnt try to fix what aint broken
