What is the most famous song by your favorite bands/artists?

Hum.... I have once again ran out of ideas for questions...

This is a particular challenge for those of you who listen to obscure bands :0)

I thought Green Day's most famous song was Good Riddance....

Bob Dylan - Like A Rolling Stone
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Free Fallin' (I think anyway...)
Grateful Dead - Casey Jones
The Black Crowes - She Talks To Angels
Warren Zevon - Werewolves Of London
The Band - The Weight
Janis Joplin - Piece Of My Heart
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Them - Gloria
The Velvet Underground - Heroin
Traffic - Dear Mr. Fantasy
....and so on and so on. I'm not even going to try with the obscure bands...I'm being lazy.

Edit: wow...looks like there is a few thumbs down trolls on this question.

Edit again: I typed in Tom Petty on youtube and the song with the most views is Mary Jane's Last Dance...so, I guess that is the most popular.

Who I Am Hates Who Ive Been by Relient K
Be My Escape by Relient K

Duality or Before I Forget both by SlipKnoT.

Well i dont know if this is there most "famous" song but...
"Poprocks & Coke" by Green Day

I think there most famous would be American Idiot, but it realy does suck compared to poprocks & coke

Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2.
I love Pink Floyd but that song gets tiresome. It's a great song in the right context, (like when listening to it when I'm listening to The Wall) but when it's just smacked right there in the middle of a Boston tune and a Allman Brothers tune like on the radio, it just doesn't sound as great.
I know tons of people that profess to love Pink Floyd just because they love that song. That annoys me a wee bit. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Edit - YES! I've heard that so many times and my hand quivers because it wants to meet their face. And then you get those people that wear the Pink Floyd pigs on their shirt and I ask them what song they like and they reply, "Oh, I don't know, I just really like the pig." Aahhh, angerr.

Candy Girl ~New Edition

it's an oldie but goodie.......
It was hard choosing that song over Mr. Telephone Man.

Captain Save-a-H** ~E-40

SLIPKNOT-WAIT AND BLEED OR BEFORE I FORGET

rawhide - dead kennedys

Pitchshifter - Genius.
its one of those songs people hear (video games, commercials, etc) yet dont know who the band is or what the name of the song is.
Also Galvenize by Chemical Bros which is more recent.

"Monster" by Meg & Dia and "Dancing In The Dark" or "Born In The USA" by Bruce Springsteen. =]

who I am by Hope partwell

Pantera--Walk
Tool--Sober
Alice In Chains--Would?
Sublime--What I Got
Hatebreed--I Will Be Heard
Slayer--Raining Blood
Rush--Tom Sawyer

Y'all With the Vampire Squad? - Greeley Estates

there is the funniest interpretation video of it on youtube. I was talking to the drummer about it, and he even said he sings the fake lyrics during shows. <3

For the Deftones I think it would be either "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" or "Minerva".

Edit: Rckets - I completely forgot about that one! We don't hear the 'Tones a lot around here - the only time I do is when the chick that's on one station plays "My Own Summer (Shove It)" on "The 90's at Noon" show.

Who's the charmer giving out the thumbs down?

the black parade - my chemical romance

Gosh, I'm crap at these things.
I'm quite bad when it comes to knowing the populariry of bands/songs et cetera..

Guns N' Roses; Welcome to the Jungle [?]
Nirvana; Smells Like Teen Spirit
Babes in Toyland; Bruise Violet or Sweet 69 [?]
Sisters of Mercy; More [?]

hmm.

Green Day has quite a lot of famous songs :)

Probably the most famous 4 would be Good Riddance, American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When Septmeber Ends..

Not everyone knows Good Riddance is Green Day's though, so although almost everyone knows the song it may not be known as Green Day's, mostly because of all the younger people going crazy over American Idiot and rushing out to buy that album, ignoring the other 6 or so.

Rob Zombie - Dragula
NIN - Closer

Sookie - More famous than Change (In The House of Flies)? As bad as our radio stations are here, we get to hear that one sometimes.

Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad by Blessthefall

dream on by aerosmith pretty much tore up the charts back in the day

DEF LEPPARD- Pour Some Sugar on Me

Another brick in the wall
Have a cigar

they are all very good songs, even though I prefer others even more.

Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston
Alice In CHains - Man In The Box or Would?
