in Europe than here in the USA? yes, no and WHY? is it because music comnaies have no interest becauyse there is no $$$ or other reason. thanks phat: thank I know you're right on track, because american gothic scene plain SUCKS. everytime Americans try to copy so European goth metal \bands they failing miserable. europes rock scene in general is better. there are bands with actual TALENT playing over there. american music companies have as you said, become mainly interested in $$$ to the point where all they do is keep putting out the same crap thats already out. hence why america has nine doezen rappers that all sound alike, 33 zillion emo bands, and not much else.
meanwhile, over in europe, they keep cranking out bad *** metal, goth that is almost in its purest form, and hell, even the rappers are distiguishable from one another. i know the rap thing is kinda off topic, but its true. even the rap scene is better over there.
unfortunatly, no one in the record companies believes goth and metal will catch on as heavily here as it does there, so they dont even try.
for that matter though, do you even want them to? yeah, sometimes getting the cd's i want is a chore, having to import a lot of them or whatever, but id way rather be a part of the select few over here listening to this, than turn on the tv every day and see girls fawning over them the same way they fawn over fall out boy or some crap. Well it's quite simple of really, Americans are not as into Gothic and Black Metal as they are in Europe. Gothic has always been even in it's youth a Scandinavian/European entity. There are some good American Gothic and Black Metal bands but except for a handful they just don't match the much of the excellence of the Euro scene. |
