Allright, so i bought this amp used from a guy who said he bought it about six months ago. I am inclined to believe this because the footswitch it came with was not even out of the plastic yet and it is in absolutely mint condition. I am having problems with it though. I can't, even on 'more drive' with the drive turned up to 12 get as dirty of a sound as my friend's deluxe. his is older and I've heard i have to break the tubes in, but i think it should be more crunchy right now. I wanna hear some good options on how to adjust the deluxe, or how long it's taken for some people to 'break in" their new amps. Also what are some good distortion pedals, I have a boss OD-2, but im not really happy with it. I've tryed a jackhammer, and i like those more, but what are some others? I got some real treats for you here. If you're looking for sweet natural overdrive sound. Get an Ibanez Tube Screamer, or a similar less expensive pedal the BBE Green Screamer which is modeled after the Tube Screamer

I have tried the boss MT2 Metal Zone pedal and I have to say I was disappointed. It sounds very digital. The Metal Muff absolutely screams!
Good Luck to you. The Hot Rod is a fantastic amp and pedals sounds phenomenal through it. Esp the MicroMetalMuff for metal tones. |
