WHATS the diffrence between the BEAT and the RYHTM.?

any links to examples would help alot (if possible) thanks

Cuz in most rap songs you always hear a hi-hat in da background wat is dat the beat or rythm

BEAT is accents on certain counts, which drums usually do. Instruments(especially bass) can play beat if they simply accent counts.

If you don't know what count is, its every beat...which is kinda recursive, huh? If you count 1,2,3,4 on most rocks song, you'll notice a certain drum playing on every 2 and 4? Well the counts are the beat, so playing the beat is basically accenting, or playing certain sounds on every certain beat, like the 2 and 4 beats in most songs, which is called the backbeat(or was it something else?)

RHYTHM is the body of the song, while the Beat is its spirit. The rhythm for most rock music are the chords of the song. Rhythm in other contexts can actually mean the beat, but when contrasted, this is what it means in the context of rock.

Bass and rhythm guitar play rhythm(surprising?), this is contrasted with lead guitar(or other leads) and the drums, as lead doesn't create a moving feeling like the beat does, and the drum are only beat.

Rhythm therefore, is halfway between the "beat" and the "melody" of the song, okay? Hey, if ur confused, music is to be heard, not explained, anyway...

Beat is the same chord or drum over and over and rythm is the 2 or 3 chords used to aid the song

a beat is usually the length of a quarter note which depends on the tempo of the song. In cases such as cut time a beat can be the length of a half note. If a song has the tempo of 60 bpm (beats per minute) a beat would be 1 second, 120 it would be a half second.

Rhythm is can have various meanings but the rhythm ur asking about describes a sequence of different kinds of notes. Such as a half note quarter note quarter note sequence. Hope I helped, but if you have no knowledge of music you probably won't understand my post.

beat is the time of the quarter note used in the song, which is represented in 4/4 time,2/4 time/6/8 time etc...
Rhythm is the same thing, although it can represent other facets such as chord progression,percussion,melody,tambor,dyn... etc...
For instance beach boy songs have a simple 4/4 beat but they often play a faster timed rhythm on the drums and guitars like in the song I get around.
When you listen to a song and tap your toe,you usually tap to the beat, but the song may have alot more going on than the just the simple beat.
Country songs usually are closely tied to beat and rhythm at the same time, but bluegrass tends to have a beat but play a melody opposite of the down strokes of the beat.
Jazz tends to work against the clave(time/beat) and accentuate up strokes
